Description:

The Porcellio Laevis Dairy Cow Isopods are renowned for their spotted appearance hence their common name the Dairy Cow Isopod.
They have a voracious appetite for protein-rich materials, such as shed reptile skin and left over food. They are active during the day, and are ideal for bioactive enclosures, where they help break down organic matter, including plant debris and waste.

They are very entertaining to watch when feeding, as once the colony grows they can have a big food reaction. They are also willing to take food directly from your hand, which makes them a fun species to interact with.

Care Requirements:

Being a very prolific species of isopod, they are easy to care for, making them a great starter isopod. While they can withstand a wide range of humidity, it is best to keep them above 70% as they enjoy very humid environments like a terrarium. They do still require a low level of a moisture gradient, you can achieve this by watering one side of the enclosure or allow them to climb up something such as a plant in a terrarium. All round easy to care for, and love to eat, ensure proper feed and moisture is available and they will thrive.

Dairy Cows play a vital role in maintaining a clean and healthy habitat, working alongside Springtails to manage waste and promote a balanced ecosystem for your reptiles and Terrariums.
