Description:
The Cubaris murina Orange is a bright and fast isopod, rarely staying still for even a photo. They are a smaller species of isopod and tend to remind us of orange jelly tots, being so cute and bright they bring life to any terrarium. They form part of the Cubaris genus and are related to the popular Rubber Ducky isopod.
Care Requirements:
As a robust species, Cubaris murina thrives in bioactive terrariums and vivariums, helping hobbyists create balanced ecosystems while gaining hands-on experience with isopod care. They enjoy lots of moisture and as any Cubaris genus would enjoy, lime stone, as they originate from lime stone caves where there is high humidity and calcium within the lime stone. Having lime stone in the enclosure is a big bonus but can be supplemented with cuttlefish chunks or powder.
This species is ideal for those who are new to isopod breeding and are looking to master the techniques required for cultivating more specialized “designer” isopods in the future.
