Description:
At first glance at the photo one might be forgiven for mistaking these for dairy cows, however, upon inspection you will find these to be very different in both appearance and personality. The Porcellionides Pruinosus Oreo Crumble is a smaller fast moving isopod, with a powdered white coat and some black markings along its back.
They too are active during the day, much like the Dairy Cow isopods. Which makes them ideal for bioactive enclosures, where they help break down organic matter, including plant debris and waste.
Care Requirements:
These isopods tend to stay on the dry side of the enclosure but still enjoy quickly darting into the wet side before moving back to the dry side. It is important to provide both wet and dry sides in your enclosure, this can be achieved by providing suitable hides that trap moisture under them. If there is enough food and places to hide in then they should thrive and can be a very prolific species of isopod.
Porcellionides Pruinosus are essential to maintaining a clean and healthy habitat, working alongside Springtails to manage waste and promote a balanced ecosystem for your reptiles and Terrariums.
